Sacha Pérocheau Arnaud, Best Oral Communication Awardee

10 June 2024

Best oral presentation award to Sacha Perocheau

Sacha Pérocheau Arnaud is the recipient of the Best Oral Communication Award at the ‘Polymers2024’ international conference held in Athens from 28 to 31 May 2024.

Sacha Pérocheau Arnaud is a postdoctoral researcher at both the Institut de Chimie, Université Côte d’Azur and CEMEF. He is working on a collaborative project led by Alice Mija (on the Nice side) and Patrick Navard and Christelle Combeaud (on the CEMEF side). The aim of the study is to understand the formation of contaminants known as NIAS (Non-Intentionally Added Substances) during processing. Financed by Agence Nationale de la Recherche, the present project is departing from these studies by processing three major, well-characterised polymers with their most common additives in order to understand how NIAS are formed, evaluate their toxicity, see if their occurrence can be decreased by modifying processing parameters…

At the Polymers2024 – Polymers for a Safe and Sustainable Future – conference, Sacha Pérocheau Arnaud presented his work on ‘Understanding additive degradation pathways and formation of Non-Intentionally Added Substances (NIAS) in polystyrene: impact on chemical structure and thermo-mechanical properties’. The conference, organised as a single session, was well attended by around 350 participants.

The prize, sponsored by the journal ‘Polymers’, was awarded by Prof. Dimitrios Bikiaris at the conference closing ceremony on May 31st, 2024.

Congratulations to Sacha on this great recognition!
